C3 BIOTECH is interfacing a wide range of feedstocks for biomass generation into its fuels production programmes. These range from soluble waste feedstocks (industrial, marine and agricultural) to more complex waste streams (paper mill and other industry materials). C3 BIOTECH is engineering biology to rapidly access feedstock carbon to support the production of BIO-AIR and BIO-LPG.
Existing technologies of carbon capture and storage (CCS) have been implemented to reduce emissions (e.g. at fossil fuel electricity generating plants, cement, steel and chemical works). C3 BIOTECH is developing sustainable carbon neutral fuels, whereby its combustion emissions (CO2) could be recycled as the carbon source for the production of further biofuel. This is providing innovative routes to carbon utilisation that can be interfaced with CO2 polluting technologies.

C3 BIOTECH places resource de-stressing at the heart of its technology developments. It builds these around waste management technologies, CO2 utilisation and the conservation of fresh water. Many of its technologies use sea or brackish water as a basis for fuel production to conserve fresh water supplies, especially in arid environments. Our technologies free up arable land and enable its use for other purposes. C3 BIOTECH is also committed to developing engineering solutions for cost-effective production in the field with low CAPEX and OPEX burden.

Many of the C3 BIOTECH fuels have petrochemical equivalents. C3 BIOTECH is committed to delivering sustainable drop-in equivalents of these petroleum-derived fuels. C3 BIOTECH Drop-in fuels are engineered for blending with, or replacement of, petroleum fuels without changes to the fuel distribution and end-user infrastructures.
